Ultra Low Carbon Chlor-Alkali

As Europe's largest Chlor-Alkali producer, we already supply the market with a range of standard products with the lowest industry carbon footprint in Europe, recognised through its Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs).

As a further step in our sustainability journey, we have developed a new Ultra Low Carbon (ULC) Chlor-Alkali range, which includes caustic soda, caustic potash and chlorine, which offers a significant reduction in carbon footprint of up to 70% compared to industry average.

The new ULC Chlor-Alkali range uses renewable energy sources to power our manufacturing sites: local hydroelectric power in Rafnes (Norway) and electricity from North Sea wind turbines in Antwerp (Belgium). The new ULC range is certified under ISCC(*) PLUS.

Customers using the new ULC range will now be able to significantly reduce their own scope 3 emissions and allow them to develop their sustainable downstream products to address their own market needs.

(*) International Sustainability & Carbon Certification: global voluntary certification program for bio-based, circular and renewable raw materials across all markets.
